During my career I have been involved in and part of many groups and organisations. Among these I would like to mention one in particular. Early in my career I was invited to take part in a group led by prof. P I Branemark himself with the mission to develop aesthetics in connection to implant treatment. This opened my eyes and under his direct guidance I started to develop an understanding of Biological principles and to respect this in every sense. For decades I have committed myself to develop less/non invasive protocols in the field of oral rehabilitation in order to avoid complications related to biological tissues, especially in the long perspective. Branemarks expression «teeth for life» which was discussed thoroughly in our group should be a main focus in every treatment method. Traditional methods are not always tufted on biological principles and my strivings to change this for the benefit of my patients is not finished yet. I also try to spread this thinking through lectures and publications as well as in research. This is indeed costly but when you sense the gratitude from your patients when they understand my special interest in their future dental health it is well worth the efforts.
